ERI is an international company specializing in the development, distribution and support of OLYMPIC Banking System®, an integrated, real-time banking and wealth management software package. This system covers a wide range of functional areas and business sectors thanks to its flexible design, including private banks, retail banks, custodian banks, commercial banks, credit unions and microfinance, central banks and brokerage firms.
THE CHALLENGE
As part of its activities, ERI uses automated testing to check for regression. However, automated testing is not a magic solution, and cannot do everything on its own. To industrialize automated testing, you need automation specialists, a dedicated test environment, knowledge of the test coverage to be automated, preparation of data sets, work on scenario robustness, and consideration of the cost of maintenance and results analysis. In addition, ERI initially relied on a historic test automation platform. Although maintained, this solution did not evolve and did not allow APIs to be tested. Furthermore, many tests were flaky during execution. ERI therefore looked for a new solution that would :
- Test the OLYMPIC Banking System solution on a web browser
- Test REST APIs
- Facilitate maintenance
- Offer a no-code approach for functional users
- Industrialize testing by using in-house functionalities or a common programming language
With this in mind, ERI decided to opt for the Agilitest solution.
